Shelters Over-run With Cats.
The desperate cry of Humane Society of Freeborn County and the Albert Lea Animal Shelter is to find homes for the cats that piling up. It is the season to be thankful for some, and a time to be jolly for others, but for many cats this will be their last season if homes can not be found.
Christa Stieler, the director of the Humane Society says“There are way too many homeless cats right now.”
The Albert Lea Tribune ran a story titled The 12 Cats Of Christmas and gives a profile of twelve of the unfortunate cats looking for a home.
One of those cats is Lucy, pictured below. She is "a female adult dilute calico. She’s got a great personality, loves being held and petted and gets along very well with other cats." You can find out more about her and the other 11 cats of Christmas by clicking on her picture.

The story opens: "It’s the season to be giving. And what better gift than to give a homeless feline a forever home?"
Giving one of these, or any homeless animal, a home this Christmas would be wonderful gift. However, this should not be understood that you should give any animal as a gift to someone else.
The responsibility of accepting a pet into your home is one that should not be taken lightly, and certainly not a decision that someone else should make on your behalf.
