Another Microchip Success Story

It seems that every week we are hearing of another miracle rescue of a pet with a microchip. 

Today it is a black cat - unlucky for some, but very lucky for the Kelzenberg family.  Thanks to the rice grain sized microchip they had imbeded in Ivan the cat they were able to be reunited again.

After 4 months of living rough and travelling 60 miles Ivan found a rescuer in Becky Waskosky.  She found the black cat living as a stray and decided he was someone's family pet because he was so sociable.  

Becky took the cat in and feed him up before deciding to take him to the vet to check he had been spade.  Although there was no collar or name tag to identify Ivan, the vet did a scan and - bingo.  There was Ivan's details in a microchip.

This story may or may not have played out happy ever after for Ivan without his chip, but if the Kelzenberg's had not thought to get a chip for Ivan they would not have seen him again.

So if you haven't had your pets microchipped, then you should certainly consider it.
